Marinebeam is a supplier of hi-quality LED lights for marine purposes only. They supply all the IMTRA requirements for their extensive fixtures line following a lot of research by IMTRA on LEDS. I have had LEDS from an unmentioned supplier that have failed within a year. Very frustrating. Experience has been great so far with Marinebeam. Their online and phone information and service has been quite helpful. Just thought someone might be interested.
They also have a discount code for GB owners: "grandbanks", all one word. Every little bit helps.

I don't like LED lighting, it makes the gin look odd

I don't think that is the lighting, Tom, more likely blurred vision from the gin. :)
Good luck,

I have Marinebeam LEDs in my engine room as a test. The old automotive incandescents didn't last in any of my boats, wood 32, glass 36 or glass 42 Eu. The Marinebeam lights are trouble free and cool, literally.
My next stop is replacing the hot halogen lights that litter the overhead in the salon, galley, berths etc.

I don't know what to do about the Gin, Tom. It doesn't seem to matter with my single malt. The LED technology is advancing to the point that getting different color temperature LED's is becoming possible. Marinebeam has some warmer lights available now.

I think Bob has it right. I have LED lighting for the most part and will have Tom and the Admiral as guest later this month for 3 weeks. I will be able to more accurately judge Tom's concerns and will report my findings on the forum. We will be in the San Juan's thru the first part of July. Forum members in the vicinity are welcome aboard as additional observers of his alleged vision problems.

I'm hoping Don Prior will be in area to help with the observations and testing. :D

I will bring Hendricks and Spy Hop gin.

My daughter is getting married on July 5th on the beach just south of Ala Spit on Whidbey Island and I think I have to be there. Other than that I believe I will be in the area for July.

See you on the water.

Fair winds.
