We are having our aft cabin remodeled on our 1989 36', reconfiguring the starboard side bunk sideways to make room for a King Size bed. (76 x 80)

We removed the built-in dresser drawer cabinet and are using the port side bunk area as a new dresser drawer area, using all of the old drawers and the front face of the old drawer cabinet.

Therefore, we have a perfectly good exit ladder for sale. I don't want to throw it away, so I figured someone could make me a decent offer for it.

The ladder is 17" wide and 20" tall.

There are 2 "tabs" sticking out on the top of the ladder that are 1" each side, they were made to hold the ladder inside of the dresser drawer so that it wouldn't fall out.

They could be cut off with a saw is you wanted.

Interesting! Does it pivot up, or slide in and stay put?

Bob, it is the same ladder that you have in your boat, but we have removed ours and relocated the dresser drawers to sit on top of the starboard side single bed against the closet wall. All we did was trim about 1" off of the bottom and the frame slid right in and we were able to keep all of our dresser drawers.

Good Morning! Thanks for the quick reply! Well, she doesn't look like she ever had one in the Aft cabin. Does your boat have the Chart drawer at the bottom of the dresser?

No chart drawer, I've never seen a 36' that didn't have an "escape" ladder as part of their dresser drawers that are located on the aft wall. It is hidden in the top right drawer.

Look at yachtworld or other websites at any 36' GB and you'll see one.

Maybe you don't have one because you have a newer boat??

Attached Here is a picture of what mine looked like, even though this is not my boat (this is a 1991, I have an 1989) The ladder drops down out of the top right drawer and you step on the top of the dresser to get out thru the back hatch.

The long drawer at the bottom is what I call the chart drawer. Similar to this 94, no attach points.

There are variations in the bureaus from hull to hull. 36CL #790 had/has 9 drawer fronts, including the one for the ladder. No "chart drawer."
