For example, two 32' keels were laid on the same day. One boat was a customer order, and shipped upon completion, to the US, and registered in 1969 and the other boat completed at the same time, was left in inventory at the factory for a year, and not sold and shipped to the US and registered untill 1970. The boats are the same physical age, but one is considered a 1969 because it was registered first, and the other considered a 1970 because it sold and was registered a year later. So my boat, hull number 32-162, 1970 could be physically older than PJ's 32-164 1969? Or at least my keel is older.

FWIW We have a 32 that is hull #32-160 and when we bought it, I contacted GB and they told me the keel was laid in September '69 and then finished and sold as a 1970.....but didn't have the date it was sold.
