Took the boat up into BC for a bit with some good friends on board. Some shots from the trip. The boat in the fourth and fifth shots is the coolest small boat I've ever seen.

Marin was that boat in Silva Bay? I think we saw that up there this summer when we were in the Gulf Islands. Nice photos. I recognized the Albin next to it too, because we used to own an Albin.

That's the Canadian flag. Or it used to be until they came up with that maple leaf concoction. I prefer the look of the Red Ensign, so we fly it underneath the "newbie" Canadian flag. It's always surprising when we're in BC how many people in passing the boat on the dock say things like, "Now THAT'S a proper flag," referring to the Red Ensign. And not just old codgers, either. :)

The defaced Canadian Red Ensign was used between 1921- 1959 after which the Maple leaf was adopted......

After all the red ensign was/is the ensign of the UK. Nice to see heritage kept alive.

I'm a member of a Royal Yacht club and as such I carry a warrant now, which is issued by the Secretary for the State of Defence...... that means that I can now fly the un defaced Blue Ensign along with the burgee of the Yacht club. Not that it gives me any privileges :?

Having grown up in Hawaii, I'm used to living under the St. George/Patrick/Andrew cross. :) I like its design, too.
