Desolation Sound 2013

Or 2nd, and most likely final, trip to Desolation Sound is, sadly, over. Good people, a good boat, good food, and pretty good weather made for a delightful trip. I took over 400 pictures and some of them even came out well!

Nice photos! We really like Tenedos Bay and always tuck in behind the island on the north side. Love the oyster bed exposure there at low tide. Alwys envision it ripping out a inflatable bottom for the unaware. Swimming in the lake is nice as well.

Why your last time?

It is not an easy trip for us. We have to fly most of the way across the country and there is a week long car rental and ferry crossings, etc. Adds up to an expensive trip. Just want to try somewhere else next time. Maybe the North East or the Bahamas or maybe a canal boat.

That makes sense. Was not aware of all the technical difficulties combined with the added expense. But now that I see you are from Louisiana it all becomes clear and I am glad you did this trip twice. The PNW is an amazing place to cruise, but I have not cruised in warmer climates yet......
