Don after reading about your winter cruising I thought I would share this.......
I left 2 weeks ago for a summer in Scotland, I have based myself in a marina for 6 months and in reality its only a journey of some 250 miles by sea.
I have however added a little something to Little Ships inventory that is new.....
On the first night aboard I was so cold that I had to get up and fill a bottle (Vodka bottle dont worry I saved the Vodka!) with hot water to help warm the bed. Temperature outside was well below freezing and although the heating was warming the cabin ect, it wasn't having any effect on my bed. The condensation on the windows had turned to Ice even with the heating on. I now understand why some of you have insulated the roof ect.
The next morning I went out and bought a Hot water bottle...... something I have never used in the past ??? well lets just say a long time.
The next night was just shear luxury and decadence, getting into a warm bed was an experience I had forgotten about. Number one best buy this year so far.... £3.99 for a rubber Hot Water Bottle. Now thats cheap in boating terms.
