We just went through Peavine Pass at slack and were headed up Harney Channel. We passed a friend and he grabbed this picture. We spent the night at West Sound and then met up with four other Squalicum Yacht Club boats for the weekend at Garrison Bay on San Juan Island.

I think your's is one of the few GB's I have seen that actually has a sail. Do you use it and if so what effect does it have? Im wondering if it helps to counteract roll in rough seas?

I have used it a couple of times while at anchor. It seems to help, keeping the bow pointed into the wind. I also tried using the sail one time while traveling in semi-rough water. It was hard to tell if it did any good in that case. It might have helped minimize rolling somewhat, though I'm not sure. It did seem to make steering more difficult, as it tended to push the stern around when the wind was coming from the side.
