Anyone have a sail available for sale that would fit a 36' Classic?

I have one from a '67 36 Classic and track from the boom, but no mast track.

Hi J.R.

Can you explain to me in a little more detail what you mean? I've never had a sailboat and know nothing about sailing, but I have a friend who is and I would like to explain what you have. Does that mean because my mast and boom has a track that it takes a special kind of sail?

What I have is the original GB factory option sail, which attached to tracks on the mast and boom with slides attached to the sail. If your boat already has tracks, then it is set up to take a GB sail. I'll try to post some pictures. What year is your boat?

The sail is in great condition, no tears or frayed spots. It has battens and a sail bag.

Hi again:

I have a 1989 36' Classic and I think that the mast and boom have a "inner track" or slot that the sail rides in??

Aluminum mast and boom? The sail should still fit, but would need to have the sliders replaced with ones that match your tracks.

Hi again:

My friend said that this sail could possibly work, but we would like the luff & foot measurements. He told me that we could remove the track attachments and use sail slugs for my channel slot.

Please advise as to size and price.

Thanks!

Jeff

Yes, it is all aluminum and I'm learning all of this terminology today! LOL

Do you live on Lake Champlain? I used to live in Portsmouth, NH and we would go see Lake Champlain

Boat is on southern Champlain, Chipman Point. Ever out to the Isles of Shoals? Met my wife there 42 years ago! We still love to go to Portsmouth.

Luff is 103", Foot is 108" (yes, it is longer than it is tall) and Leech is about 12'. One of the two batten pockets is missing it's batten. Bolt rope along luff and foot.

Yes on the Isle of Shoals, we loved Portsmouth too, going back for a visit in October after being back home in FL for 7 years. Did you see my request for measurements and price?

Thanks!

Look in the post above for measurements. I don't know how to begin to figure a fair price. Maybe your sailing friend would have an idea? I read somewhere on the board years ago that it was around 700 to have one made?

My Captain friend said that even though my mast is higher, the sail could work with adjustments on the slugs and the missing battens. He does sails and boat upholstery and canvas for a living. He told me that for a used sail, expect a price around $150 - $175.

How does that sound?
