I plan on going to both. I am driving to Southport and will have our boat in the Georgetown Show (12th year for us).

What sort of small boat pictures do you want?

Ok. I will take some.

One the main events at Georgetown is a rowing skiff building competition. 2- person teams are judged on time and quality. Once built, the 2-person teams row a relay race across the Sampit River.

There is a great video on the Show website. Couple of quick shots of our boat, MANAGING. But also shots of some land displays and the building competition.

When do you find time to build skiffs? I spend most all of my free time chasing rot on the big boat. When we do take a break, we throw the dogs on their pontoon and go out to a deserted beach and let them play. Me? Someone has to drink the beer in the cooler.

Well being in the PNW winter is a fine time for wood projects and since we bought our boat house, projects on the big boat get done a whole lot quicker. I don't have to fight winter covers anymore, I can walk around the whole boat without falling in and I kind of set up shop in the front of the house. I plan on painting the hull this winter using my new HVLP. This should leave me just enough time to build a Wherry. Crossing my fingers anyway

The Southport Show was nice, although there seemed to be less exhibits this year; very few smaller craft. Send me your email through PM and I will email you several pictures. Tom
