Logo Progress

Postby Barry L » Wed Mar 15, 2017 5:48 pm

Today was a big day in the world of bronze GB logos. The first 4 molds were ready after 8 dips into the ceramic shell. The pour went well and the bronzes came out very nice. Not perfect, but very nice. Sense my gating system worked I will start on the next batch tomorrow.

Fascinating actually. I assume it is too late to get in on two of them?

I am no master, I just have a warped sense of what's fun. Some guys play golf, some go to sporting events, I just putter my time away in my shops.
Ok, I am far enough into this to give a price. One hundred each if you are on a tight budget, one fifty each if you can afford it. Or any where in between is fine also.
That's seems high for boat bling but this is unfortunately not a simple operation. I am sanding the raised surface to 120 grit. More and finer sanding might be better but it just adds more of my time to each one. It is however bronze not brass so it will never really shine.
I will be glad to drill mounting holes but I am not sure where to put them.
Again, thanks for all of the kind words. The first pair is going to Rick for getting this thing started and after that I will keep working until every one who wants one has one (or two).
I guess the best thing would be for interested folks to send me an email at barryluke36overatgmail.com
Thanks Barry

Great work Barry! They look nicer than mine! Who would have thought that posting a single photo would have gone this far.

I have two in the mail...! :) Still to decide where to place them, please share photos when you have put them up on your boat (if that's what you'll do) so we can see how it looks and be inspired
