Replacement water temp sender

Postby Oliver » Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:10 am

Does anyone know if our old GB's use VDO or SW systems. Also does anyone have a brand and part number for the temp sender? I have the tank off the top of the engine. It is a chore to get the nuts tightened ( finally sacrificed a 1/2 inch wrench and wrench and ground it down. BTW, I bought a set of cheap wrenches at Harbor Freight for less than one wrench at the auto parts store).I hate to replace the sender on an a trial and error stab in the dark.

Two things.
1. Look at the guages ... Stewart Warner or VDO, they are labeled.
2. Call American Diesel. The first thing you’ll be asked is what kind of gauges do you have and then what engine.

I did exactly that this past June and got exactly what I needed.
