Ammarine 404 exhaust riser / exhaust manifold coolant passage question

Postby Imaginethat » Tue May 07, 2019 9:03 am

Hi all, I've got a cracked weld in one of my risers (SS box construction) and am planning to remove it to inspect/grind/re-weld or worst case, cut apart and copy to make a new one... my question is whether the exhaust riser has open coolant passages that are sealed by the riser flange - i.e. weather I need to drain engine coolant before removing the riser. Not a difficult thing to figure out, but potentially messy!

Also, I've got the GB drawing for a Ford riser (dated 1981)... interestingly it calls out mild steel and hot dip galv., whereas mine is constructed of stainless steel.
Does anyone happen to have a copy of the riser for an Ammarine?

Cheers
Pete
