Re: Replacement Door Hardware

The original door hardware on my 1986 42 is Legge. As rare as hen’s teeth! I’ve heard that Perko makes replacement parts. You’ll need exact measurements to compare. Maybe someone else will chime in here.

The forum has a Grunert manual that a member donated under Member Resources section. Look under “Misc. Manuals”. It may be the same manual as yours.

Re: Fridge Thermometer

Looks like the same size and hole pattern as my Cooper thermometer. Google Cooper 6142-20. Yours, like the Cooper, can probably be calibrated after carefully removing the plastic cover or from the back and following the manual instruction (again found in Google). New replacements by Cooper are less ...

Re: Holding Tank Not Fully Emptying

Oldersalt, Just thinking out loud (writing), is it possible to install a new pvc pick-up tube in the “side” near the top of your holding tank? Maybe use a 90 elbow or sweep to reach the bottom of the tank. Connect the pvc through the plastic tank with a uniseal. Then attach your discharge hose. Abon...

Re: New GB 36 owner NO KEYS

I’d remove the legge lock from the door and take it to a locksmith along with a blank key.

Re: Duplicate Door key

I've used a blank from ILCO. Look for ILCO 62LG. I can't find it in a local hardware store. Found a source on eBay. Also, eBay has a current listing for a Legge blanks for Grand Banks...$25 for two. No affiliation.

Re: Mysterious RPM Limit

Are the engines connected to a synchronizer? Or individually can not advance past 1500 rpm?

Re: GB49 Classic Fuel Tank Replacement

Steve, I have a 1986 GB42 Classic. I had the old leaky tanks cut out and new aluminum tanks installed (two on each side) two years ago. I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area. A reputable company from Southern California did the work. All I did was write a check. The total bill was just shy of $19k.
