Re: Transmission Control Cable

Same problem with our GB 46. Traced 8 or 9 turns (from upper helm) in the cable before terminating at the tranny. Replaced one tranny cable with a new one and saw significant improvement. 90 days later - same problem, only worse. One leg up on the console for bracing and I might get it into reverse....

It consists of the short line you mentioned and a long towline of up to 100 ft. However, the short line does not have the heavy st...

Re: Electronic Transmission and Engine Controls

Morse shift cable from flybridge made 8 turns before reaching the tranny on my GB 46. Replaced it twice after it would get impossibly stiff in about 90 days of use. Bought Glendiniing from Go2 Marine and never looked back. Best solution of any. Super great Tech Rep in Seattle area was immensely help...

Re: Flux Gate Compass

Had the same problem in 1999 46. No logic at all as to where it should be. The wiring FROM the helm area was the main hint. It was found midships in the "pantry", stbd.side, under a pull-out drawer, just inboard of the stbrd. chine. Go figure! Apparently, many modern versions of said equip...

Re: Line cutter on drive shaft

Have some that came with the boat. We maintain them because they are there, but in 5 years of use, cannot think of a single incident when they were required to perform. That said,.........???

ROD GRAFF:--- For the inexperienced and uninitiated like me, could you please explain further the "bent an offset on very sharp chisels" part for removing proud caulk? How was it "bent" and why not a normal chisel?
Thanks.

Dave Northrop at GB sent my request to Narzi, noted above by Rusty. He responded quickly, saying the price for the small ones is $18 USD ea. and shipping DHL the 4 of them is $45.00. In my case, a boatyard is involved (don't ask!) and we are awaiting disposition from them on the final source. Ken, a...
