Re: Battery Charger Replacement

I recently installed a Xantrex 40A charger. It works well, but this unit doesn't provide good charge state information either. Only the percentage of the output as a whole. On my previous boat (Morgan 45) I installed the Blue Sea P-12. It will display the state of each bank as well as a temperature ...

Do you have a dry exhaust system? Pray tell. Mine are Cats.

Re: New Exhaust

Thanks for that suggestion. I've never noticed them on exhaust systems before, and I'm a delivery captain. I'll look into it further. The original elbow in my boat split the full length of the inside curve, starting this whole exercise.

Re: Fuel Tank Refit (was aft shower pan)

Numero uno. Thar she be. This is a real psyc boost. I was getting stuck in analysis paralysis. This has been a bear of a job. As mentioned elsewhere there has been a big learning curve.

Re: Started cutting out fuel tanks.

Charlie, Port side is on the radar. No leak there yet.

Berger, I did not know that. TNT fabricators in Ft. Pierce, Fl. built mine. They gave me a discount for all six at one time. Not a big fan of stacking tanks. I feel each one should support itself. That's a lot of weight piled up.

Re: Started cutting out fuel tanks.

These are the mock-ups of the tanks that are going in Kumtage. The aft two are 17" wide (the max to go thru the cabin door), go in horizontally then stand upright while the fwd tank is 15" wide and slides in vertically behind the engine/in front of the aft water tank. She'll carry about 318...

Re: Started cutting out fuel tanks.

BTW, let the dock-master know the fuel is all on one side causing the list. It will avoid that late night urgent phone call that your boat is sinking.

Re: Started cutting out fuel tanks.

Been there, still doing that! Try to save the profile of the bottom of the tank as a template for the new. The nibbler sounds like a less stressful way of attacking these bears. May try one on my port tank (if I ever finish the stb.) Nice job of finessing the genset out!

Re: New Exhaust

Thanks for the feedback. Elbow 1.0 had 2 cuts. My geometry skill necessitated elbow 1.2. Version 1.3 got an extra 4"on one leg, but since I cut the hose to try and make 1.2 fit, the end of the outbound hose was in a different place(extra points for your alignment comment) making the angle of 1....

Re: Amber indicator lenses

I replaced one of mine with this (287416 Sierra Indicator Light UN21320 - Amber 1/2" Dia. - 14) if I recall correctly. I will verify when I am aboard next. I don't remember if I had to bore the hole a bit. Stay tuned.

New Exhaust

Another step in the right direction. This FRP elbow is my third try at getting this exhaust system back together. The first time the angle came out wrong, so I cut the hose, changed the angle of the elbow and added 6" to it. That made it too big to assemble in place so rather than cutting and g...

Re: cleaning heat exchanger problem

I know this sounds stupid, but have you checked the hose and thru-hull leading to the strainer for growth or weeds sucked in? Is there a strainer over the thru-hull? Decreased flow starts there. I've done a lot of unnecessary work to find stupid things.
