Re: Grand Banks Nameplates

The nameplates are awesome. But they are a lot heavier than I expected (not a bad thing at all). I'd like to ask how everyone is mounting them. Are you drilling holes and screwing them (with 5200) into the fiberglass or going all the way into the salon with small lag bolts, washers and cap nuts? Th...

Logos

Hi Barry,
I actually started this whole thread about Grand Banks Logos. Do you have any that are complete? I really want two.
Thanks,
Bryant

Logos

I received the logo today and it is a work of art. Hard to believe it is plastic. It is very polished and highly reflective. I will not spend the time to polish my casts as it will only add costs. They will be sanded flat and if anybody wants theirs polished they can have at it. It looks like the o...

I will purchase a plastic logo from GB and send it over to Barry if he can use it for a mold. I spoke with Barry and if we can get a list of people that would like to purchase these I am sure Barry can figure out a price and go from there. Barry I will take 2ea or one pair please I will take two.

tanks

I know this is about holding tanks but tanks are tanks. When I changed out my fuel tanks years ago I elected to go with less fuel and more water. Now my boat is a 36 1966 twin eng. I have four fuel tanks two in the engine room and two in the laz. When I bought the boat it had a generator in the aft...

Holding tank

So here's the $65,000 question - will the 59 gal tank fit down the hatch(es) ok? I'm interested because I'd like a bigger tank also. The 59 gal tank is 13.5x17.5x58.5. They can set it up so either the 13.5 or the 17.5 is height or width to fit into your engine room as required. It will fit into the...

Bow/Stern Thrusters

I have a GB 36 Classic. One screw. Has anyone had any experience with external stern thrusters? I don't want to put an external bow thruster on the boat since I live on the Gulf Coast and we have shallow water. I was wondering whether the external stern thruster would help in backing into the slip.

holding tank

Sadly, I had to get rid of the old heads when I bought my GB 36 classic so I just went with an inexpensive replacement for the time being as I am doing quite a lot of refit and upgrade. My holding tank has issues so I'm replacing the old one entirely along with new plumbing and hoses etc. In talking...

Canvas

A windstorm just relieved me of the old canvas, which I hated. Has anyone had a new complete enclosure on the bridge done on a GB 36 Classic? If I don't turn it over to my insurance I'm wondering what the cost would be?

Grand Banks Logos

Does anyone have one or two of the old stainless steel or bronze logos that went on the exterior of the cabin? I have a GB 36 Classic but it does not have the logo on it. The new ones available from the plant in Maylasia are plastic.

Lehman Coolant Capacity

Just did my engine and generator. Took 8 gallons for both. The engine was 19 quarts or just at 5 gallons. I used 50/50 Dex cool. Also, make sure you bleed your heat exchange after draining the system and then re-filling.

Rule Bilge Pumps

I had two Rules on my GB 36 that quit working. When I pulled up the hatch on the floor I saw that the connections between the wires and the connector had corroded on one and on the other one of the wires had broken away. The pumps were old so I replaced them, took out the connectors and ran the wire...
