Epoxy coated wood fuel tank

Hi.
Has anyone built new fuel tanks out of wood with epoxy and glass coating?

Seems epoxy is diesel resistant and wood as the form is easy to work with I was wondering if anyone has done it.

Thanks

Ours has the same gap. Hull93 so I suspect it does not matter. And in fact if I try hard I think I can convince myself a gap is actually good allowing some movement of the planking if need be

Just a note that instead of taking Sunset Painter (32-93) up the coast this year we will be sailing our 1971 mirror 16, a camping dinghy, in the race which starts next Thursday. Look for the boat with the red sails and the green dodger. As you steam on by on the way to Ketchikan wave or say hello. C...

We in Canada actually like places without people, so we will take north Dakota. In fact now that we have a free trade agreement with Mexico the right plan may be to just divide the US in half, with Canada getting the top bit and Mexico and Cuba getting the bottom bit. If Quebec objects we will offer...

thanks Bob,

Mine is the version with the plates top and bottom and the teak handrail. I am looking at the possibility of getting another one cast, but suspect that will not be inexpensive........

I will look again in classified.

cheers
