Try a google search for "Soss Invisible Hinges". On my notes I had marked SOSS model 203 as a suitable one and actually that was the one we bought from Häfele (B2B only). https://www.hafele.com/us/en/product/concealed-hinge-soss-invisible-hinge-180-opening-angle/34107527/?MasterSKU=000000...

I have a new Garmin 741xs with HD radar installed on the bridge and would like to have the radar display in the saloon but I am hesitant to spend another $850 to make this happen. If I can accomplish this with my laptop, which I run as a backup GPS chart plotter, that would be great. OpenCPN might ...

I know at least two GB36s have sailed from mediterranean to baltic sea via canals. Our GB was sailing through french canals. On a GB36 you get airdraft under 3,5 metres by removing windshield and mast and then having all the possible weight in the bow.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHkRpS90ULE

They were both rebuilt completely during the winter. We do actually have an official distributor in Finland. The point was that those broken parts aren't necessary, because the tranny was working.. BTW, complete rebuild and test run done by service center for both transmissions was about 2500...

Velvet Drive surprise

In the spring 2014 we replaced engine mounts on our FL120 engines and checked shaft alignment. During the summer the portside shaft started to make some strange and loud noise we thought would be the shaft touching the shaft tube or so. We realigned the engine but the sound was still there.. In the ...

What a coincidence! The shop that I took our pumps is indeed known to do some serious power upgrades on diesel cars.. One of the previous mechanics, now retired, was actually a rally car driver. :D

Anyway, I'll keep you informed..

That someone was an engineer, so he might have got it right. Anyway, before starting this thread we had already decided to set 20 deg timing. Just wanted to ask if anyone here might have a clue or own experiences in a GB with timing later than specified. The guy at the workshop told me more or less ...

We first planned to pull injectors in order to have them tested. While doing that we had to remove injector pipes (#1 and #2) and to remove injector pipes we had to drain the coolant. Now, as we were having all equipment around pumps removed, we consulted a workshop and they suggested to have pumps ...

Ford Lehman 120 (6D380) Simms injector pump timing

We have just taken our Simms pumps to a workshop for calibration. While removing pumps we decided to do some exercise to understand how to reassemble. During these timing exercises we found out that the port engine had pump timing at 16,5 degrees BTDC and the starboard engine at 14 degrees BTDC. Acc...
