Re: Windshield Washer on GB 32

Windshield Washer ... Luxury ! 68's had no such refinements. I send my wife out with a bucket of hot soapy water & a squeegee, She quite likes the concept that I can see where we are going !!

WINDLASS AMP DRAW

1968 32' Woodie. Have had Windlass system "overhauled" after it stopped operating last fall. It is now operational - the only reference I can find as to its origin is a 2003 Work Order that references an "Elks electric Windlass". The electrician that worked on the restoration has...

Re: Bow Thruster Installation for Wood GB42CL

Paul,
Here's some images from my BT install, GB 32 Woody. Tunnel lining and outer 'flange' are all fibre glass. Hope this helps.

Re: insurance

In Canada required to have a new survey every 5 years. It is more structural than mechanical. Confirms there is engine, gen set etc but does not warrant their condition. Survey is conducted on the "hard"

Re: Length Over All GB 36 Classic

Brent,
Maple Bay Marina is perhaps an alternate option for you ..... unless you are specifically looking for the creature comforts that the Yacht Club offers. There are GB owners at both.

Re: Woodie bilge water tolerance

Always something down there, well at least on my woodie ~ never more than an inch. As JR indicates it's what's there that matters most. Just don't spill any beer to make it worse. 5 pumps ... impressive!!

Re: 2018 Summer-- Cruising the Inside Passage

Mike, Leslie
Let me know if/when you are planning an overnight at Maple Bay Marina, Vancouver Island. My '68 Woodie is moored there. Willing to share a beer(s) and tell "lies"!!

ISSUE RESOLVED : Servo-Tek Compressor

Looking for some advice. Have a Servo-Tek Polarmarine refrigeration compressor, whick probably pre-dates the boat! Servo-Tek stopped producing marine compressors in the 1980's. Finding it impossible to get advice on how to safely remove this now defunct item. Local HVAC companies are not even willin...

Bob,
Against my better judgement, you win by attrition. Hopefully they accept the lowly CDN$. Cannot deny how much I have valued and benefited from the info wealth on this site. Thanks for your stewardship.

Martin.

Re: GB32 zincs?

Bob,
Likewise, I shop quite extensively online. My issue with this is PayPal's involvement. Having been burnt once I will not give them, of all business entities, permission to disclose my personal data, period.

If you can PM me with a POBox or address I will happily send a cash contribution.

Re: GB32 zincs?

Bob, Firstly I very much disagree with your 'public' shaming. We'll park that for the moment .... Have tried to contribute in the past. Will not use PayPal (having once been ripped off by them). Tried to pay by credit card. Your system demands a phone # and email address .... it should need neither....

Unfortunately cannot access any of the images. Thinking of doing likewise on my '68 this summer.

CowBay? is that as in Vancouver island> If so might like to visit to see exactly what you have done.
