It would be very rare to see two engines begin to leak through a heat exchanger at the same time. When did you have your coolant replaced last? It sounds like the levels are low inside the engines. Perhaps the air was not bleed from the system after the last filling. Remove your rad caps and top up ...

Thanks Alberto,
Did you consider making three vertical tanks vs the stacking?

1990 36 Classic water tanks removal

My two aluminum water tanks are sprouting pinhole leaks where I can't get at them to repair. Hoping someone may have some advice on the best method for removal and recommendation for best replacements.

Both tanks are located against the transom in the rear lassorette.

Cheers

If you are referring to the black wedge gasket that fit around the exterior frame. Try your local glass shop, it is fairly common.

Over time Salt will build up in the brushes of the motor. The brushes may also require replacement. Power cables to the motor also require regular cleaning.
the service manual is available online.

Good luck

Thinking about adding a cooling hose crossover from my two shaft logs just in case i have to run on one engine. Looking for advice on the best way to do this. Any issues to be aware of?

I replaced my CQR with the new Rocna Vulcan 44lb on my GB36 and find it sets very quickly under most conditions here in the Pacific Northwest. the new design fits the closed pulpit nicely, and looks good. In mud, it digs in deep and requires a health winch directly over top to break it loose.
