Re: 32 GB Fuel Tank Replacement/ Measurements?

Washburn's used a fork lift. They rigged a single pole connected to the forks and sent that through the door opening in the salon. Attached chains to the pole and engine then lifted the engine up. Set the engine to the back of the salon while tank work was accomplished. The tanks just barely fit thr...

Re: 32 GB Fuel Tank Replacement/ Measurements?

The tanks were replaced in 2013 at Washburn's Boatyard in Solomons, MD. Total cost was approx. $17k. During my prepurchase inspection I discovered that the top of the starboard tank had rusted away so much around the fill pipe that I could have pushed my finger through the top. Seller agreed to the ...

Re: 32 GB Fuel Tank Replacement/ Measurements?

We replaced our tanks on our 1986 GB32. We removed the engine and then we were able to remove both tanks without cutting anything. Using the old tanks as patterns, we had new tanks made that were exact replacement sized.

Re: NBA VS NFL

A "snopes.com" search of this "NBA vs NFL" list from years ago shows that it is unverifiable nonsense. Geez, with all the REAL dirt available on members of the government one has to wonder why anyone would spend time putting together something like this.

Oh well.

Bill, You need to grow up. No one here is interested in reading that kind of personal attack, especially against one of the original and most sharing posters on this forum. I found your comment to be highly insulting. Bob, it is GREAT to see you back posting on the forum. You and I are on the opposi...

Great Electronics repair service

Hi folks, Recently I had an issue with my Raymarine E120 plotter- I lost 95% of the backlighting on the screen. I was referred to a fellow named Steve at Jaytron in Bradenton, Florida. All I can say is WOW! During my initial call to him he spent all the time I needed diagnosing the problem, being su...

Orin,

eBay has a variety. I can't remember the exact supplier, but there are several to choose from. 50 lb. pieces.

Hi Kurt, On my 1986 GB32 I installed a product called the Dinghy Caddy. We absolutely LOVE it. Since it maintains the dinghy in a horizontal position, it allows us to keep everything in the dinghy, and keep the engine attached. Launching takes literally seconds. Retrieving might take a bit longer- p...

There is no need to be embarassed at all. As a matter of fact, you did a smart thing by taking photos and then using them to help resolve the issue. More importantly, you are THE MAN for sharing your experience on this forum. Thanks for the post. I learned something and I appreciate the honesty. Don

So many variables. Give a reputable agent a call and discuss the specifics of condition, use, etc. They can get you an accurate number very quickly.

Certainly not trying to discourage making cool custom changes to your 32, but is there a compelling reason you want to change the V-berth? When we put our filler in, the berth is huge.

Please let us know how it comes out if you do make the change!

Kindest regards,

Is it the cap or the flange that the cap fits on that is leaking? The cap is, of course, easily replaceable. The brass flange that the cap tightens onto is also replaceable. Brian at American Diesel has all the parts needed, including step-by-step instructions. I replaced my flange after one of the ...
